Abeer Asad and Sauban Umais, both award-winning Pakistani fashion models, tied their knot earlier this year, in February 2025. It was an intimate ceremony with only family and friends as attendees. Fans on social media, particularly Instagram, saw them as the ideal couple and were pleased with their wedding announcement. Abeer’s simple yet traditional red ensemble carried an aura of timeless elegance and was loved by many. Her plain, deep-red bridal lehenga choli, along with rich golden embroidery in floral and paisley motifs, became a fashion statement for months after. One particular reel from their wedding in which Sauban performs for his wife and she cheers him on, became viral and currently has more than 1.7 million views.
Recently, Sauban announced via his Instagram story that he and Abeer have “decided to go their separate ways” and also that their divorce is still in process. He also added that he wishes her “nothing but good luck.” Abeer and Sauban have both unfollowed each other on their official Instagram accounts. Interestingly, Abeer has yet not remove any posts with Sauban, although Sauban already has. Also, surprisingly, Abeer has still not updated her Instagram name and retains the “Abeer Sauban” label.
Most fans who enjoyed the couple’s relationship both on and off screen were taken aback by this. Their statement suggests that Abeer and Sauban decided courteously and cordially, even though it appears that neither of them has ever discussed the reasons for their split in public.
Their life narrative, marked by a happy wedding and an abrupt breakup, has once again demonstrated how people’s struggles in life may often be concealed beneath the glittering exteriors of society.
